Header images with no css, just filling in the Customize section! Layered images, if you want, valid in older browsers!

And Heads Up, with the last code push! Which I wrote not knowing about Bannering, but I think they're different enough takes to be relevant *g*

*peeks at the code* Yeah, I think this will work out very well, actually. If someone just wants a single-layer image, Heads Up is easier to work with, and if they want to do something elaborate or repeating, there's Bannering.

Heads Up has multilayer, too (all of the current themes for it, for instance), but yeah, part of my intention was to make it really easy to match a banner header to content width - Heads Up specifies content width rather than margin width, so you can make your content fixed-width easily.

Mostly because people on dreamwidthlayouts were whining about not having something like Expressive *g*

*blushes* I feel kind of guilty, because I /used/ to patch my own and now I keep getting distracted by, you know, boring old dayjob. At least I can try to make it easy!

It's okay, I derive a perverse sense of satisfaction seeing the unpatched style count go down. Though insane dayjob has kind of gotten in the way of me doing much this month. Or working on new styles myself.

*thumbs up* I made that, goodness, years ago now. To have a style people could add their own banner images to and adjust as necessary.

Wait, you just... can put in a banner? And don't have to do complicated things to the code that you'll have forgotten three months later when you realise putting Times New Roman on your banner was a terrible idea?

*grins* That's the idea, yeah. Just fill in the url of your banner image(s) in the Customize section. If it's a non-repeating image, you might find it easier to use Heads Up, which also just went live. That one you can set a fixed-width for. Bannering is designed for when the image tiles or when you have a repeating image in back and then a non-repeating image to lay over top of it.

Great, thank you! I threw in a random one just now, and it worked great!(Well, the banner doesn't work, being random and totally the wrong size, but it WILL work once I know what I want!) Excellent, looking forward to playing with it.
