Fic post from my archive.
Kirihara sets up some practice matches with Fudoumine, to the general annoyance of most concerned.
What was it, he thought crankily, with pushy senpai who couldn't retire properly when they were supposed to?

Date: 2005-03-04 03:40 am (UTC)Guts for garters, indeed.
Ann as a miniature female Sanada = Priceless.
My Ann and Sanada-muses can't decide whether to be annoyed, amused, or flattered.
And Yuuta! On Fudoumine! Eeeee!

Date: 2005-03-04 03:53 am (UTC)And Yuuta. Whose backstory bunny has gained a leg up on the rest of the bunny scrum, and is now waggling its ears triumphantly at the FujiTez bunny, who is having trouble getting to the top of the heap because of at least one Kiri-drama bunny holding onto its tail. *sighs*
*snugs* So log us some good Pouncing to inspire me, yes?

Akaya-chan's learning to play head games three steps ahead of his team. Gah. So, so adorable!

Date: 2005-03-04 03:58 am (UTC)It must be some kind of karmic retribution, the troubles he caused his buchou in the past are all coming back with a vengence via his charges. ^____^
*pats kirihara-buchou* there there, think of it as a growing experience.

Date: 2005-03-04 04:09 am (UTC)SQUEALS!
KIRIHARA! My little Elf is All Grown Up. And his sense of humour is going to be legendary. Having said that, oh, to see a match, hell even some interaction between Teh Fuji and Teh Elf would be mighty entertaining. *hinthint* Once again, love the dynamics, how all the New captains are trying to fill the very large shoes of their previous captains. (Uh, yes, I'm following this series, I just keep on forgetting to make good comments
SQUEALS!
(Uh, yes, I'm following this series, I just keep on forgetting to make good comments <_<)
I do adore the way Kirihara is handling his team, and attempting to be a captain that is not in the shadows of Yukimura (and OMFG! Yukimura kicks arse! Expecially when threatening a teacher *koffs*).
For some reason I don't picture Seigaku having the same captain-problems, if nothing else because Seigaku still have three strong players that have gone through the fire. And when speaking of a game that matters they would understand. Beside, the Snarky-One and Momo-chan will make everything OK!
LOVE!!! *huggles*

Date: 2005-03-04 04:20 am (UTC)You're very good at predicting my storylines, you know that? Fuji-Kiri interaction coming up in two stories. They have lessons to teach each other.
Yeah, I think Seigaku isn't having quite the same Issues. Among other things, I'm convinced that Tezuka is grooming Momo to follow him. And Kiri-elf is, I think, due for a bout of slight jealousy that Ryouma seems better braced/prepared to step up than he himself was. Huge fun.
*lovesback*

Date: 2005-03-04 04:33 am (UTC)The thing with Momo is that he is a good player who still haven't reached his full potential yet. Beside, he's much more intelligent than people give him credit for. The Peach Rocks. Kiri really shouldn't be that jealous, despite everything, Tezuka has and always will be Ryouma's target (beyond the old man). Hmm, no that isn't right, Tezuka made Ryouma open his eyes and see beyond his father, to sound rather trite, to aim for the world. Kiri has always viewed Yukimura as someone to be admired, and I always got the feeling that he doesn't view things in the sense of aiming for the world so much as beating those he sees. Hmm, not sure if this is making any sense. Beside, the dynamics between the members of Rikkai and the members of Seigaku are quite different.

Date: 2005-03-04 04:20 am (UTC)This, as always, was a lovely bit--
The Sanada-Ann connection...
Yuuta on Fudomine (thank gods! he has a chance of playing and being remembered during his senior year, now!)
Kirihara playing head games and reflecting on his own growth over a couple of years... [grins]
pure. love.
nothing else.

Date: 2005-03-04 04:22 am (UTC)I had to do something to get poor Yuuta back in the picture, you know? He deserves better than to languish at St. Rudolph. *pets Yuuta*

Date: 2005-03-04 04:53 am (UTC)The Sanada-Ann comparison.... Oh the protective streaks...
The guts for garters ( and maybe Kirikara would have spontaneously combusted from the glares)
Kirihara showing what he learned from his previous team and captain (and meing carefully twisty when it comes to headgames, and you are something of a howling hypocrte, Kirihara-kun, you didn't get what a real game meant for quite a while, too. And is stepping On Fuji's tail regarding his brother such a good idea? Hmm? Though it's good that Yuuta gets to get remembered, as opposed to languishing in obscurity in St. Rudolph.
Write that apology letter both to Yukimura-san and Sanda-san, Kirihara. You were a worse case than your current team and you know it. *snickers* Karmic justice and all that.

Date: 2005-03-04 05:08 am (UTC)*snickers* I've never seen a more horrified look on a muse's face than when I suggested I might toss Niiyama into bed with Kiri-elf. Speaking of karmic justice. It was really funny.

Date: 2005-03-04 06:40 am (UTC)Squeeeee. *so amused by the fact you compared Sanada and Ann-chan* And, and, the Akaya/Yuuta match. *of course, happened to read an AkaYuu crack-fic before this, and is still sniggering*

Date: 2005-03-04 10:25 am (UTC)Ah, and Kamio-Ibu pair triumph once again (and Akaya mentally making notes about Shinji was very cool - he's really coming through as a captain). I particularly enjoyed Tachibana and Akaya finally sorting things out. I don't blame Akaya for feeling a bit short-changed after finding out what Tachibana can really do, but on the other hand if there's ANYONE who can truly understand what Akaya went through, it's him.
Loved this part so very, very much.

Date: 2005-03-05 12:45 am (UTC)I'm thinking that it's Shinji Akaya will play when it comes to Regionals; something about them just clicks for me, when I think about good matches on the court. Considering that Tachibana has had to restrain Shinji's temper in the past, I think they have a few things in common.
Thank you muchly!

Date: 2005-03-04 03:55 pm (UTC)And, like everyone else, I am tickled by the Sanada-An comparison as well as Yuuta playing for Fudomine. <3
This is my favorite one so far, of the current series. *nods*
