Momo remembered going from being a bit worried about Akutsu's dismissive contempt to being a little alarmed at his absolute, devouring, manic focus on Ryouma, once the game heated up. At no point had Momo really been surprised, though. Even then, he'd taken it pretty much for granted that Echizen could hold any fire barehanded, on the court.

I think the one thing that immediately struck me as "off" is that Matsueda would be a rehash of Akustu - that was the whole point of the Akutsu arc, really, about how someone could be naturally gifted in tennis and not like it. Akutsu and Matsueda both are "tennis bullies" and I don't really see the distinction.

I did enjoy your view of Fuji being one of the "crazies" and Ryomas fears for what "could have been" but... I think I need more variation between Matsueda and Akutsu.

Mmm... ^__^ God, that was good. There are at least three or four levels of subtext to that conversation about genuinely bad tennis players, and I LOVE stuff like that. *squeals happily* However, you may just seduce me into actually liking Momoshirou. Momo is the only, and I mean, literally, the ONLY character besides Nanjirou I've seen so far in the series and on fansites that I've actually put any effort into actively disliking, and now you're making me like him. XD While you keel us with UST. *dies* It's getting to the point where I'm checking both your journals about three times a day, just to see if you updated. ;.;

And also, *hugs Ryouma*. GodDAMN that boy needs it with a father like that. *pulls face*

ya know... the problem with getting to these fics after other people is that most of the things you were thinking to say have already been adequately said by other people, gosh darn it!

Still, I agree with your take on Jin. In the anime it is definitely shown that Jin *is* attracked to tennis, but he's just one of those rebellious teenagers who needs a good kick in the ass! It's not that he doesn't care about tennis---I mean, look at how he 'chases' after Ryoma when Ryoma's playing for shit after losing to Sanada that first 'unofficial' match of theirs. And then when Keven shows up, you see it again... how he almost tries to "defend" his team? {grins{

Anyway, speaking of kitty kats in laps, *my* cat has decided that after being gone for nine days it's time I got off the computer and started giving him more loving, so if you'll excuse me...

First of all, you do great Rikkai D1 fics, and Rikkaidai fics in general. Good job, *loves your Rikkai*.

I totally didn't expect the TezukaOishi though, ^^;; sorry. But it was fine.

I was wondering if you'll ever go back to writing fics for FMA. I first found out about you from your FMA fics because I loved the dynamics that you managed to express with Roy Ed and Hughes. I hope that you'd write more for that fandom int he future. ^_^
