To everyone who is currently using one of my draft layouts for Core 2 testing:

My servers are currently down, and HostMonster, once again, can't find its ass with both hands and a map. This likely means your journal layout is buggered.

I am going to make public the custom layers I have been working up so that you can paste those instead, and will include quick instructions in how to use them. Watch this space for updates.

ETA: Okay.

These are the layers in question.

Colorside Nadeshiko

Modish Scarlet

Basic Boxes Green

Copy one of these and go here. Scroll down to the bottom where is says "Create a layout-specific layer". Set the dropdowns to "theme" and "core 2 testing" and hit "create". Now the table above should show, at the bottom, a new layer named "(none)". Hit "edit" for that layer. In the new windows, select the two lines currently in the largest and replace them with the copied code from one of the links above. Hit "save and compile" up at the top.

Now go here, it "All" in the sidebar menu and select the theme you have just created.

You will need to re-set all your preferences, since this is a new theme.

And now, I will go back to cursing HM and hammering on their laughably mis-named "status" page.

If you really hate your host, may I suggest Nearly Free Speech? They're seriously amazing, although you do have to be willing to get your hands into the backend of a lot of what you do.

I've never had any problems with downtime, and I host several sites with them. And their service is impeccable.

What an intriguing business model. I'm not sure I quite understand the details, but it sounds worth exploring. Will have to check that out. Thanks!

well, as I have a migraine right now - I don't trust my brain with anything complicated. :-/

I will definitely check out your design again when I feel better.

What are they supposed to look like? I think I may have done something weird.

Yeah, I got it to work. It was coming up as blank, at first, but I selected it wrong. So, it's all good now. Sorry.
