First meme of the new journal!

The Rules:

1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.

2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.

3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.

4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

This one I made from a flower-on-water image I found at sxc.hu, by rjuliana. I loved the image, but it didn't lend itself to most of the kinds of layouts I did. I did, however, make a very nice icon. I added the white bars at the side, deliberately a little uneven because it seemed appropriate. I don't use this one a whole lot, but it's one I use when I'm in either a fairly good mood or else a floaty state of mind.

Now this one, I made entirely from my own products. It started out as a photo of a huge oak by the side of the highway! I kept tinkering with it and, after repeatedly selecting and reversing to strip it down to just the biggest branches, and filtering it through 'glow' and 'find edges' I wound up with this. It's my icon for a stripped-bare mood.

This is a detail from a Susan Seddon Boulet painting. She does tons of goddesses, and I'm very fond of her composition, which is very dreamlike and heavy on the symbols emerging from each other. This is variously packaged as Demeter and Virgo, and since Virgo is my sun sign it caught my eye. I tend to use it for philosophical or esoteric posts.

*grins* This is a detail from a painting by Haruyo, whose work I dearly love. Actually, I found it when I was starting my Great Lakes Kimono Revolution project and looking for prettier target lines than is currently "proper". I like the older, softer drapes, and Haruyo paints them really beautifully. His work is mostly available as puzzles, commercially! I use this icon when I'm in a teasing mood.

This is one of my icons by Pensieve, whose icons I really like. I like it purely as a pretty image, and I also tend to be a sucker for this kind of deco-vintage elegance in my own decoration. Appropriately enough, I use this one when I'm in an elegant sort of mood.

'Ello! Since you've subscribed to me, and I've just managed to import all my icons from LJ, I figured I'd play on the meme, if that's all right. :)
