Bunta knew perfectly well what Jackal was doing, of course, but he rarely turned down the opening. It was one of the reasons Jackal found his partner endlessly entertaining; his dramatics were always perfectly sincere and entirely deliberate, at the same time.

OOOH, *yes*! somebody who picked up on Bunta speaking French! Yeah! OH, and don't they speak Porteguese in Brazil? I could be wrong, but I think so; had a roommate for one semester in college from Brazil--was contantly getting trashed on for spouting the few spanish words I know every time I saw her...

Everybody confuses. It wasn't once or twice that I read messages in my LJ saying that they couldn't understand Spanish very well, and I had to explain that it wasn't Spanish, but Portuguese.
Really, I think Portuguese and Spanish so diferent...

Hey, that made me think...Jackal was born in Brazil, or just grow up here?

I was under the impression that Jackal was born and raised in Brazil to Japanese immigrants---

the Japanese government has a stipulation that Japanese immigrants may return to Japan as long as they can show proof of being Japanese within the last fifty-some-odd years. However, once in Japan, the jobs availble pretty much suck. Basically, all these immigrants can do is construction work/road work/ sanitary work, and other "crap" jobs.
