So that's what he meant...

So, when Aizen said that the throne of heaven is empty, he meant that the King does not involve himself in the actual politics of SS. He wants to be a King who exercises his power temporally, not just spiritually--if we can make that distinction /within/ a world of spirits.
Also! The separation of the royal family into another world/plane, and the apparent emphasis on their... well, holiness, leads me to think that I was right, and the royal family stand as/for the Devas in the Samsara parallel.
If Ichigo's mother really does turn out to be one of the royal family I will laugh /so hard/. Because talk about temporal. It would come down to a conflict between Aizen's ambition (which, by the way, I expect another twist out of before the end) and Ichigo's... total normality. Personality wise, at any rate.
