Your take on Byakuya is amazing -he is one of my favourite characters and it´s not often that I find authors that write him just how I see him. And everything that happens between him and Rukia is just heartbreaking. I´m totally amazed. Great piece.

Kind of in love with this story

I began reading Bleach when it first came out and eventually stopped... because... well, long arcs and a busy life and general disinterest in the events and all. Because it ended, and because I sort of hate the ending, I became nostalgic and started reading through fan fiction.

The writing and layout of Bleach had me interpret the friendships and relationships in one way, and I am disappointed with the end result, to put it simply. I asked myself, "What is the sense is this? The logic? The appeal?" Sometimes fandom can show things that an action oriented shounen does not blatantly do, so I've been combing the internets for the missing signs and emotions.

Disappointing, really. Where are all the good writers? Where are the stories? Where's the show and conviction? Even the ByaRuki pairing has more persuasion going for it than the RenRuki.

But then I stumbled onto "Lull" and now I feel a little more enthralled.

The characterization is quite sumptuous. With B, especially, being portrayed as more than the one-dimensional uptight noble. Here he is very dynamic, very much like a real personality.

The writing itself and the pacing of events reads nicely. I enjoy the flow from one segment to another within the series.

It's not sappy or overdone. And, an element that I really truly appreciate that the focal point is not a Renji vs. Ichigo issue. Truly, I think for this pairing to work, it has to be explored on its own without bringing in the third party of Kurosaki at all, because then that really cheapens and distracts from this idea of the history and strength between Rukia and Renji. Instead, it realistically depicts the internal struggle within Rukia herself outside of any romantic involvements. To explore her belonging more and more in Soul Society and coming into her own gives the story a very grounded and realistic appeal.
