PoT: Third Watch: The Rush

Fic post from my archive.

The Rush

Kirihara's second spin through Regionals, and Nationals, as a captain this time. Drama, I-3

The pace of what Akaya couldn't help but think of as the real tournament season had two very different parts. There was the daily practice with his team, which, while demanding and sometimes intense, had a smooth swoop to it. And then there were the actual tournament matches, that sprinted along like a heartbeat after an adrenaline spike.

OH my god, Momoshiro like Niou!? xD I would've never thought of that but now that you have, I can totally see this.

Oh and Rikkai vs. Fudoumine. *_* My dream final, LOL! xD

I love Kirihara here <3 Wonderful, as always!

[flops over in a puddle of purring Em-goo] Love the Mori-moment. Love the Momo-Niou parallel. Love seeing Kirihara shepherding his team along....

LOVE LOVE LOVE this.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee, Suzuoki~!

*commenting in school... again*

Momoshiro like Niou.... Hmm. were you aware that there's a mangapuri chapter in the Rikkai matches where Momoshiro is referred to in the same way as Niou? *at least, in the Chinese translations they use the same term to indicate trickster, etc.*

"It's really annoying that the High School and Junior High divisions have tournaments at the same time,"

Yes, we feel your pain, Kirihara. It's very nice to know and test your own strength, but there's also something to be said for watching such brilliant, shiny players like yours seniors trample almost everyone into the dirt. Through the power of the shiny. *excepting of course, those in other schools who are just as shiny, albeit in different ways*

[identity profile] arashi-neko.livejournal.com 2005-05-11 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
By the way, is Tennis Sanctuary or AS:River ever going to be continued? *is a certain someone else very fond of the shiny just watching, for now? Doesn't seem hir style, to just watch and do nothing.*

*not intending to stress anyone out, just wanting to know. A rough timeline lets me figure out how long to let my mind wander in other pastures before calling it back.

*___* Lovely, lovely piece. I think that's all that needs to be said.

Very nice!

I love how you manage to show totally undiscovered aspects of the characters, while still remaining 100% IC. Also, your language? You're just able to phrase something with such beautiful, succinct language.

*fangirls* ^____^

So, is there anymore to come? Heh.

*cheering Kirihara on* ^_____^

Wow. I'm in love with this series. A mature Kirihara (or rather, Kirihara with responsibilities) is very fun to read. I also like the other players and Suzuoki! But I am wondering about Sanada and I really can't wait to see how Kirahara would react when they meet again.

And you know what? Thank you for not making it a Seigaku vs. Rikkai final at the Nationals. Because even though Konomi made Ryoma strong and whatnot, there is NO way that they would be able to win with Ryoma, Kaidoh and Momoshiro alone.

*sparkles* Just wondering, how did the matches for the finals actually go? I'm assuming that both Kamio and Yuuta were playing in singles, so given that Rikkai dropped a doubles game, at least one of them must have lost?

(I'm thinking Kamio won his game, and Yuuta lost, but then one has to feel for poor Fuji-otouto...he's always losing in canon, and to do that to him in fanfiction as well...)

Being responsible and captainly and not breaking people like that into little pieces was such a pain.

Ahh...poor little Akaya-buchou. It makes me wonder how he's going to adapt to being the brat of the team again. After all, he's been out of Yukimura's orbit for a year, and how is that going to change the relationship between the two of them?

[personal profile] fromastudio 2005-05-14 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Whee - you gave Yuuta a victory! *sends rainbow-coloured hearts your way* I find myself growing fond of Hiiyama - he's not the most interesting original character in Third Watch (that would have to be Suzuoki, ne?), but to put up with being Kirihara's vice-captain, and win against Momoshiro and Kamio...the boy's not half-bad.

Aka-chan in high school! *grins madly in anticipation* Oh, the dramatic possibilities...

[identity profile] lady-readwolf.livejournal.com 2005-05-10 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
{sighs} It's almost *sad* to see how much Kirihara has matured over this story line... {feels like crying} Oh, but it was lovely. [grins] and I do so wonder what Niou and Momoshiroh would have to say about being compared to one another, although, it seems blindingly obvious now that you've pointed it out. [sighs]

But... Kirihara... [smiles]

{GRINS} there's gonna be some serious mud slinging when that boy gets to high school... [rubs hands together in anticipation] this might just get better than Tennis Sanctuary... [eyes a certain nongendered Satan] NAH!

Still, Challenge and Third Watch is a fabulous series and I will have much fun pimping it out all over.
{sighs} I guess we really won't get that dukefest between Suzuoki and Yukimura, huh?

This was very very nice!

Hi! *waves shyly* I'm just a lurker who's been following your fics for a while...

Momoshirou like Niou! Although i think a lot of people have commented on that... And Kirihara's thoughts on Echizen... I really, really like the way treat Ryoma - keeping his 'specialness' for lack of a better word without letting it overwhelm the other characters and the story, or his own character either.

And Kirihara himself is just *love*

[personal profile] fromastudio 2005-05-13 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Second that! The banter in the Kirihara-Echizen match is some of the most delightful - love seeing the brats trying to outsnark each other.

*hearts hearts hearts* And thank you for Third Watch! It's the POT story I've always wanted to read.

Love. So much love. Mountains and oceans of love. Boundless love.

*pauses to pet Kiri-buchou*

And more love.

All hail Captain Akaya-chan!
