Fic post from my archive.
Mad Hatter has a few difficulties coping with how people have changed, post-canon.
"You are not fit to carry the weight of Pride," hir lord said, evenly. "You have none. Not really."

Date: 2004-11-21 02:15 am (UTC)Oh, you must read AS! It's twisted and complex and, um, *coughs* a lot more canonical than you might think, in a scary sort of way. Viz (I think) is bringing it out, here; pick it up next time you're home, it's utterly cool.

Date: 2004-11-21 04:41 am (UTC)There will have to be more source-text inspiration before Kirihara stands a chance against Belial, I think. Though, I have to say, they seem to be hitting it off pretty well. Sanada's getting nervous. ^_^
Re: muses on vacation?
Date: 2004-11-21 05:16 am (UTC)First Niou and now Kirihara, too? yes, I would think Sanada has something to be worried about... next thing you know, Yukimura will be... {pauses} Seiichi isn't already collecting around Belial, too, is he?
Hmm.. it does look like it'll be a while before we'll see Rikkai again, though we might get a sneak peak of them sometime in the next month, but I sincerely get the feeling that he won't---as much as I wish it otherwise--start the Nationals before January.

Date: 2004-11-21 02:27 am (UTC)I haven't read/seen AS, so even though I want to read it because it's your story, it doesn't seem a good idea until I actually know what's going on. However, the posting of a you story reminds me that I recently reread Fly from the Challenge arc.
I like the Challenge arc in general, but Fly struck me for a particular reason. I've still only seen some Tenipuri and therefore don't really have an "in" to write Tenipuri with, but even within that relatively small realm of experience I've still got ideas about what I would write if I wrote Tenipuri. (Do you do that as well?)
So Fly took me completely by surprise because I kept having this sense of recognition from it. All the major points in it were all the major points that I'd always thought should be in a TezuFuji fic if I were to write one. That's not often happened before. It was like suddenly seeing something you'd been longing for realized, and realized on a level that was better than you'd been imagining it to be. Like something you see and can immediately acknowledge as true.
So I read it and my response was "Oh, good. Now I don't ever have to write a TezuFuji fic." Because what I wanted from them is already in the world, so it's okay. The empty space has been filled.
This is not to say, "Oh, you're cool because you agree with me." That's not what I mean. I mean to say that without knowing or meaning to you did something for me, and I want to thank you for it.
It's like relief.
If that makes sense.

Oh, yeah. Especially if I'm moving slowly through some series or other. The shapes of the characters make spaces where fic could go.
It's like relief.
If that makes sense.
Infinite sense. It's wonderful to hear that it clicked that well, for you. *pleased* *hugs*

Date: 2004-11-21 05:27 am (UTC)Hmm. I'm intrigued enough to certainly be willing to give AS a shot, but if I think a series might actually mean something to me I generally try to read it in Japanese. How many volumes are there, so I can figure out how much of an investment that would mean?
Maybe it would be a good idea to read the first volume scanlated; is that a good point at which to evaluate whether I want to put the required amount of money into the series? (I assume I will want to, actually, but it's always so much easier to part with the green if you've had a taste of what you're getting....)

Date: 2004-11-21 05:55 am (UTC)There are twenty volumes, altogether, and *checks* yeah, Volume One should give you a decent run-up. It ends on a small cliff-hanger, nothing horrible, just a bit... page turning. The mangaka's good at that. And it will introduce at least half the main characters. I can email it to you, if you have an address that can take large files (31 megs).

Date: 2004-11-21 08:14 pm (UTC)I will now rescind my previous comments about UST and disgruntlement. For this pair, I'm not sure I can see a way to resolve the sexual tension without breaking one (or both) of them. And I'm rather fond of them being no more broken than they already are.
Having done a tiny bit of digging for names and meanings (no more than a quick Google, mind, so goodness knows how accurate what I've turned up is), this line made me cackle, you sly thing. [snuggles]
Mmmmm, very important pronoun shift! ^__________^
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So very much to love! ^_______________________^
You said there may be more, for Lucifer's point of view? e_e

Date: 2004-11-21 08:41 pm (UTC)*grins hugely* I'm keeping a running appendix of the names and sources so I can write it up as an addendum to the arc. There's a reason for everything I chose, and I'm having way too much fun with Strong's Hebrew Lexicon and Revelations.
More coming!
