You know, if there was one kind of fic I would never even /bother/ to say "I'll never write that" it would be kid-fic. I am one of those people to whom "child free" is, actually, /exactly/ the correct term, and expresses my inherent alarm and wariness when faced with a child.

And yet.

I now appear to be writing kid-fic, because when I really poked at the question of "how did Lan Wangji get from only /just/ breaking out the The Rules to being fully Rules, What Rules?" the answer is apparently "Lan Yuan".

*hands* Okay, then, I guess this is happening.

Well, he is a very special child. With the added bonus of springing fully formed out of the cabbage raddish patch.

And you already know he's going to turn out perfect.

So this is a perfectly forgivable aberration in the child free writing life.

Plus I eat up these fics like candy, so I'm deeply excited there's going to be another one. They're just so deliciously full of angst and suffering, but also growing up (on everybody's part) and learning how to deal with trauma, but also learning how to care. And argh! I'm so glad there's going to be another one! *rolling around in the library floor with joy*

This is true, I'm firmly convinced the Lan Sizhui is going to be the next Chief Cultivator and no one will see it coming until suddenly everyone is doing exactly what he says.

I've never actually been in a fandom with a small child I'd consider, for one second, writing; it's very disconcerting.

I absolutely learned my lesson about the fatal words back when I said "Oh, I don't write crack-fic..." And then Tennis Sanctuary happened. But this! *baffled gestures*
