But I mean! Is the mental image not just perfect, when you think about a dance floor worth of (relatively) innocent club-goers scattering out of Shen Wei's path because he's stalking toward Zhao Yunlan?

I am overloaded/tired enough that I thought "Ouran Host Club" & was thoroughly confused as to how this was a kink, even without knowing the drama characters.

Mmmmh, very nice mental image! And I could imagine Zhao Yunlan as either an amazingly sexy dancer, or an enthusiastic dorky one.

But how would Shen Wei's dancing be? He's good with a blade and martial arts, and I'm of the opinion that good fighters will be great dancers, too, once they get over whatever hang-ups they have (yeah, I've met more than one fighter for whom that was true) - sooooooo, would he dance? And if yes, what type of dancer would he be?

Uhm, I'm thinking far too seriously about that now. Look what you have done! *g*

I'm guessing that Shen Wei has mostly ignored modern notions of dancing, but that he'll get /real/ enthusiastic once he realizes it means free license to get sultry and possessive over Yunlan.

Oh...yes! And people watching them are close to passing out from lust - or because they're terrified, because Shen Wei glares his best BCE type glare if they watch for too long. Or film them too obviously.

Now I'm thinking of all kinds of scenarios...how about the popular undercover in a gay club trope, set in their earlier (re)aquaintanceship? Which, no problem at all for Zhao Yunlan, and minor heart attack from longing on Shen Wei's side? *g*

Of course, that meant today involved researching the club scene in China, and how I could actually make this happen, and now Zhao Yunlan has added "patron of alternative/underground music clubs" to his list of rebellious gestures. Zhao Xinci is disdainful of the club scene as a whole, but frequents the glitzy superclubs in order to politic with and/or stake out high rollers.
