Fic post from my archive.
Stress in school gives Niou the break in the game he's been looking for.
Yagyuu was eyeing him like a tiger trying to decide whether some sharp-clawed creature would be more trouble than lunch was worth. Masaharu gave him a brilliant, wolverine's smile, and he snorted.

Date: 2004-06-16 08:41 pm (UTC)Yes, yes, read, watch! It's the most incredibly addictive, crackful series I've come across so far. AO, at scarywater.net for the anime. Let me know when you hit about ep 60, and I'll fix you up with the manga.

Date: 2004-06-17 03:48 pm (UTC)Rikkai is like Hyoutei, only different. You'll love 'em. *thinks* That is, you'll love them in manga; they got kinda shafted in anime, though it's still very worth watching for the voices. Here, to go this entry, and avail yourself of the downloading. You'll love them even more.

[blinks] and dammit--did *EVERYONE* have a sadistical math teacher at some point in their lives? {scratches head, very glad she's an English teacher and not a math or science monster-er, teacher}

Date: 2004-06-17 03:58 pm (UTC)I don't know if it was everyone, but I sure as hell did (stinking goat-bastard that he was). English teachers are much nicer. *nodnod* <--not biased at all

chunks = smaller servings, sooner rather than larger servings later
......
{sighs} It's torturous either way you look at it, really, but I'll take what I can get as soon as I can get it....
And, albeit *some* English teachers can be... sadistical... {grins} we all have our days, ne?

Date: 2004-06-17 01:42 pm (UTC)Yagyuu's head lifted, slowly, to look at him straight on. "Lack of control is your forte, Niou-kun, not mine," he said, dead level.
Yeah and just watch Yagyuu roar!!! @______@ Niou is so...testing Yagyuu. There's a reason why Yagyuu would be a deadly seme. *nods hard*
"Let you what is the question," Yagyuu noted, but amusement flickered in those clear, cutting eyes. "It could be interesting, I suppose."
Hahaha, oh what? WHAT?! @___@
And Niou is so sweet. I wonder if he knows what he's doing!? I love his extremely mild provoking, oh Niou-baby you turn bring the gentleman around. ^_^
*sighs* I'm so down in the dumps lately actually. Such great fic is a welcome distraction, so thank you. This is continuing eh? Maybe you could write some Jackal fic sometime too?

Date: 2004-06-17 04:02 pm (UTC)*grins* Well, I'm sure gonna try.
Definitely continuing. Not sure I'll write Jackal-centric fic, but he has a part in any Rikkai fic.

Date: 2004-06-18 09:23 pm (UTC)Niou's poking at him was brilliantly done (and I have to grin any time he thinks someone "really had it coming" XD), the way Yagyuu never avoids his challenge and that only makes it all the sweeter--it's something like that that really makes them WORK as a doubles pair and you can see why they're the Doubles 1 of such a strong team. Marui's comments about how they were lucky to have cliked the way they did, the way doubles syndrome was present in them like all good doubles pairing was VERY nicely worked in there.
And Yagyuu's snapping was beautifully done, I love that boy here so, so much. *__* The sharp, laser-like (if I can borrow a cliche metaphor) of Yagyuu's eyes came across perfectly, I could just SEE that intense look on his face and feel the tension vibrating in the air between them. That Niou was further incited by seeing the more intense/fiery sides of people really FITS here (....I'm going to be abusing versions of "OMG, this FITS!" a lot, I suspect. >_>) and Yagyuu pinning him to the floor was *___*-inducing.
But I also adored the way they both calmed back down, the way you brought out all these reactions with... well, without resorting to overblown dramatics, is the best way to say it, I guess? They're not chaotic people who lend themselves easily to hysterics and dramatics, but I believed that Yagyuu would lose his cool this way, with those carefully chosen words of Niou's--which WERE just fantastically written. Not to mention the undercurrent of affection ringing through Niou's tone and the stirrings of it we can see in Yagyuu, just by being as open with Niou as he has been. The mentions of the various levels of smiles or the way amusement flickers in his eyes... just... SQUEE. ♥ XD;;
