This is why AS sank its teeth into me so deeply. Well, that and the wonderfully, fantastically transgressive use of Revelations. *sheepish* Butterflies, liminality, transgression, pretty red-haired characters... yeah, I'm a sucker for all those. *sighs* It's really no wonder Belial is my favorite muse these days.
Shiny essay. Cue the increased AS fascination. Um. Cue the incredible fangirling over the complex character. Also cue decision on acquiring of scanlations for AS, commercial translations being only up to vol.3.
AS is a wonderfully shiny story, and far more complex than most adventure-style stories. It really is a bildungsroman, and all about the inner journeys of the characters. *nods* I shall burn a copy off to disk.
