I liked that self-control bit. It's so true; you can see in the very first episode that Ed does manipulate people, unconsciously, and quite well at that. The last exchange with Roze is one such. That, and bringing back a minor but anger-inducing character... heh. Let the guy sweat bullets.

Oh, Ed is a brilliant natural manipulator; personally I figure that's half the reason Roy gets his goat so bad. Roy sees what he does and does it better.

Heh. Marsh is a complete throw away character, but I needed someone who would piss Ed off in a small way. And he deserves it.
