In need of second opinions

Okay, working on another journal theme. I think I've been changing the colors around and staring at the screen too long.

So what do you think?

I'm a bit concerned that the yellow is too bright. It's the right color balance, but... hm.

ETA: Now with a more subdued orange shade. I think this works rather well, actually.

I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached, I'm positive.

It seemed to me too bright at first, but after a few minutes my eyes got used to it and then it was all right. But I guess that's always the case with complementary colours.

*nods* That's kind of what I thought. I may see if I can nudge the intensity down just a little bit, try to balance it better with the outer blue.

Is it possible to work in more of the orange from the fish? Possibly gradients or something? I think that would go a long way towards taming the yellow, which--while not eye-bleeding or anything--is a bit intense.

...though looking at it again, your eyes do get used to the color after a while, so maybe it's not that big a deal.

*rueful* The orange tends to be even worse. I am having some luck making the yellow a bit more peach. It's still a bright combination, but with the colors softened down a bit.

On second thought, now that I have the blue sides to offset it, there is a dark orange I could use... *goes to fiddle with that* Thanks!

That's some /astonishing/ yellow. I'd be more inclined to one of the reddish-oranges or the blues, I think. Something a little mellower.

Isn't it? *grins* Lovely color, but too intense to use in big blocks. The blue made the fish too out of place, but I think I've got a nice burnt orange that should do the job up now.

I do like the fish. Very nice.

I liked it better with the yellow, but I have to agree that the orange is easier on the eyes. *g*
