The new year begins and Kirihara suffers a bit of culture clash. Drama, I-3

"What are you doing here?" Akaya exclaimed, wide eyed.

Suzuoki blew a stream of smoke at him. "The coaches drew straws to see who would stay with each division this year. I got the short one."

...but just really wanted to say, I love the balance here, how you've managed to shift the Troika and Kirihara dynamics to same-but-not-same.

...your Kirihara stories always manage to make me ridiculously happy.

*pleased* Thank you! This was really what I started Third Watch with, and what the whole thing was aimed for. It's great to know it worked.

And I'm not abandoning Rikkai! I don't think. Just closing this particular arc off.

he was aware that Hiiyama had probably chosen deliberately to walk ahead of him and clear people out of the way. At least, that was the effect he was having on the other students around them, and Akaya thought Hiiyama was likely wearing one of his Irresistable Force looks.
.... I have this *strange* image of Sanada walking near Yukimura for some strange reason....


"That was a good warm up."

"And what is it that you needed to warm up for?" asked the voice Akaya had been waiting for, from the side of the court.

[Andrea starts squeeing and jumping up and around delightedly]



In the end, Yukimura-san took him seven games to five.

"So, did you want to keep up your first year tradition with the other two? You should start getting used to multiple sets, you know."

….Mamoru? *Chibi* Mamoru? Wait a minute---where-- wha--?




[sighs, beaming] I just love the interaction at the end… Kirihara just *naturally* going to intercede in a problem among *his* players… and then the realization that *he's* *not* their captain anymore, but… once a captain, always a captain, I think. It's hard to really lose or give away that respect of character.

And Sanada!!! --> "You've grown," he said, at last.

Akaya's eyes widened; Sanada-san moved off as well, touching his shoulder in passing. Have I mentioned the word 'love' enough times yet in this post….?
And here he'd thought this year would be simpler than the last.

then, let me say it again, because, truthfully, I can think of no stronger word to describe my feelings towards these characters and this series other than:
Love! Love! Love! Love! Love! Love! LOVE!!!

[sighs] I'm too sad to think that this is really the end. I hope those pot bunnies come back to life sometime in the future.

Haven't been reading much PoT fic for a while, but I'm enjoying Kirihara's confusion. You always manage to write him so well. ^^

*grins* He was fun to confuse. And I just couldn't resist the temptation to make more trouble for him by dumping the Coach of Doom into the middle of the whole team.

I love the automatic response Kirihara had, it was just so...*glee* to see Kirihara act like that (yeah, um, I haven't read the rest of the Third Watch arc yet, sorry~), and then his oops was so cute. I had that image of him..um. The cute face one? Yeah, doing just that.

Heh, I think once Kirihara gets into any groove he'll tend to stay there. Oooh, which would explain the problem he had with being right at the top at the beginning of the arc!
