Fic post from my archive.
Kirihara sets up some practice matches with Fudoumine, to the general annoyance of most concerned.
What was it, he thought crankily, with pushy senpai who couldn't retire properly when they were supposed to?

SQUEALS!
KIRIHARA! My little Elf is All Grown Up. And his sense of humour is going to be legendary. Having said that, oh, to see a match, hell even some interaction between Teh Fuji and Teh Elf would be mighty entertaining. *hinthint* Once again, love the dynamics, how all the New captains are trying to fill the very large shoes of their previous captains. (Uh, yes, I'm following this series, I just keep on forgetting to make good comments

I do adore the way Kirihara is handling his team, and attempting to be a captain that is not in the shadows of Yukimura (and OMFG! Yukimura kicks arse! Expecially when threatening a teacher *koffs*).
For some reason I don't picture Seigaku having the same captain-problems, if nothing else because Seigaku still have three strong players that have gone through the fire. And when speaking of a game that matters they would understand. Beside, the Snarky-One and Momo-chan will make everything OK!
LOVE!!! *huggles*

You're very good at predicting my storylines, you know that? Fuji-Kiri interaction coming up in two stories. They have lessons to teach each other.
Yeah, I think Seigaku isn't having quite the same Issues. Among other things, I'm convinced that Tezuka is grooming Momo to follow him. And Kiri-elf is, I think, due for a bout of slight jealousy that Ryouma seems better braced/prepared to step up than he himself was. Huge fun.

The thing with Momo is that he is a good player who still haven't reached his full potential yet. Beside, he's much more intelligent than people give him credit for. The Peach Rocks. Kiri really shouldn't be that jealous, despite everything, Tezuka has and always will be Ryouma's target (beyond the old man). Hmm, no that isn't right, Tezuka made Ryouma open his eyes and see beyond his father, to sound rather trite, to aim for the world. Kiri has always viewed Yukimura as someone to be admired, and I always got the feeling that he doesn't view things in the sense of aiming for the world so much as beating those he sees. Hmm, not sure if this is making any sense. Beside, the dynamics between the members of Rikkai and the members of Seigaku are quite different.
