"You asked the seer dragon something that personal?" Lucifer's brows climbed. "You have even more guts and less sense than I gave you credit for."

Kurai bared her fangs at him. "Yeah, and look what a wild goose chase she sent me on! Taken," she pointed at Lucifer, "hopeless," at Uriel, "obsessed," at Raziel, "taken," at Raphael, "and you've got to be kidding me," with a sneer at Michael.

Have I told you lately how very much I love you? 'Cause I do.

Kurai is the most delightful thing, when you get her around Belial or Lucifer. Should be fun when Alexiel gets back, too.

I'll take it this is post series, but it has been so long since I read AS. What is going on? I can't seem to follow. *cries*

This is not only post series, but also the *pauses to count* third story in an arc. The rest of the arc is here (http://www.alltrees.org/hybrid/writing/AS/index.shtml). Quick summary: since the demons cut loose hell and crashed it into the heavens at the end of the manga, the two planes have started to merge, and all the survivors of the third war and God's death, both angels and demons, have to find some way to cope. Poor suckers. ^_^

I discovered AS fairly recently, and was entranced by the characters and Kaori's re-reading of Revelations and Milton. Great fun!

Oh, I love this so very much. This fic in particular, the whole series in general, what I've read of your writing in, uh, more general... I am much with the love-having. I'm so glad you're going to continue with this 'verse.

Just one nit-pick: "...before Mika-chan actually explodes from sheer spleen." I think you might've meant something other than "spleen" there?

*blushes* Thank you! I'm having a great time with the River-verse; it's good to know other people are enjoying it, too.

Spleen was what I meant, though I did spend a few moments wondering whether Raphael would actually say that. Spleen--rage or bitterness. The metaphoric usage comes from the Theory of Humors, which held that the spleen was the source of bile. It seemed somewhat appropriate to Raphael as Heavenly Physician, but I'm still waffling.

It really is true that the thing I use my lovely liberal arts education for most, these days, is writing fic...

Horribly, horribly amused. Though I have to admit that Kurai's right about Michael being hopeless, considering that I think he still believes girls have cooties. (Which is why we toss him in bed with Lucifer until Alexial is back, of course.)

My AU is branching off from this in that Michael initially ignores Lucifer because the Grigori have been forming what essentially amount to cults, and he's a little busy trying to figure out how to deal with that. Well, "ignores" isn't exactly it, but refuses.

I hadn't thought I would get to the humor, much, in this chapter, and then Kurai arrived. ^_^

*nodnod* Sounds cool. I'm trying to figure out how I want to bring in the Grigori, too. I mean, if God is gone, and they can't be knocked back down to bedrock all over again, and some angels are still trying to jerk them around, I think they'll be getting pissed and violent. *grins* Wonder how long Lucifer will put up with being ignored...

I went for maximum horror value and had them start cutting the wings off more powerful angels and eating them (the wings). But I'm twisted that way.
