No, wait, he could believe it; after all, it wasn't as though he hadn't known plenty of intelligent, talented individuals who where, nevertheless, gifted with the people skills of dried seaweed. It was just that he expected this kind of thing from Ryou, not from Fuji.

You figure, Kabaji must have a brain in there; I mean Hyoutei is supposed to be academically demanding. I'm tickled by the idea that he's actually brilliant with words, and just likes to be monosyllabic so he can watch people being their silly selves. *giggles* You know Atobe would go along with it.

Well, apparently Kabaji scores high on all of his tests, loves architecture and enjoys building ships in bottles. Yes, the small bits of woods that needs to be inserted into a bottle.

So, yes. Kabaji is quite intelligent and probably is very Zen-like.
