Ryouma catches up to his senpai, and takes advantage of his second time around with Tezuka as his captain. This time with, perhaps, a few more insights than last time. Drama, I-3

As soon as Ryouma came within range of the crowd noise that enveloped the high school tennis courts he started praying that his captain had a lineup for the ranking matches that would make the day, in some way, less annoying.

I haven't commented on your stories lately, and just wanted to say that I've loved these recent installments - especially in this one where you demonstrate that Ryoma's experience as a captain allows him to understand what Tezuka's doing a bit better. I also like the way in which you have Ryoma maturing to the point of looking before he decides to take a subject up with Tezuka, or at least moreso than he does in the series.

teehee hee... Oooh, so much fun! I just adored the interactions between everyone and Ryoma--Especially Eiji ^__^ Cute!!! And Momo, ever faithful best friend. it's a little strange to be reading this and realizing you're not going to fall into the Momo-Ryoma pairing that I'm used to reading in just about *everything* ^__^ (can't help it--ain't your fault, those two just make an natural pairing for me, like Eiji and Oishi).

Hmm... Oishi's Exams are more than the others? {frowns} Meaning, what? because he's going into a difficult field of study? or has his sights set on an extrememly prestigious university?

Nice observations--not so much on Ryoma's part, as on yours. Your ability to read so much into the different aspects of these characters never ceases to amaze and amuse me. The Ranking match... Tezuka's determination to continue to push Fuji... the ability to take what you've learned on the courts and apply it to your life in general... all beautiful observations.

And now, let me see if I understand these little subtities correctly---Ryoma was worried because he thought Tezuka might be giving up tennis in favor of college where as Ryoma intends to by-pass college in favor of tennis? (after all, you can always go back to school/college, ne?)

{snickers at imaginings of Ryoma bitching about the others having to go to school.... }

Oishi does seem like the sort who would *really* stress about his career and schooling, ne? I guess that makes him seem more human to me, though... Of course, Eiji always stuck me as 'normal', too--the "Whatever, it'll take care of itself/everything works out for me in the end so why bother worrying about it now? I'm young, life is grand"! ^___^ But it *was* absolutely adorable that he passed up on hamburgers with the others to make sure Oishi got something to eat, too... though, I *do* wonder how much studying Oishi was able to accomplish.... {giggles}

And yes, you're intelligence is mind boggling.

[snuggles poor freaked-out-about-big-exams Oishi]

Bob: Em.

Yes, Bob?

Bob: This is a fic. About Ryouma. And Tezuka.

So what's your point?

Bob: Shouldn't you be fangirling them, and not fussing over the one paragraph about Oishi?

........

So what's your point?

Bob: That you're hopeless.

Well, duh.

My Oishi-obsessions aside, growing-up Ryouma is Yummy. And so is Tezuka. Mrrrrow. ^__________________^
