Ryouma drags Tezuka off for an unofficial match. Drama, I-3

When the doorbell rang, Kunimitsu knew exactly who it was. He couldn't have said how he knew, because he categorically refused to believe that an inanimate object such as a doorbell was capable of ringing in a cocky tone just because of who was pressing it. But the information got through somehow.

*sparkles* What a lovely thing to wake up to in the morning. Heh. It's just so Ryoma to go and badger his seniors for matches to keep himself advancing. Whether those good opponents are in the same school or general area or not. Though one wonders if Sanada and Yukimura ever thanked Tezuka for somewhat restraining Echizen from trying to annoy them into matches every weekend or so.

Though, I don't think Ryoma's satisfaction from provoking a rise from Tezuka comes from being around Fuji too much. Maybe a little, but he had some of that satisfaction in the beginning anyway.

Er, "than" should be "that", right?

I like the interaction between Ryouma and Tezuka. Finally! We get more introspection from Tezuka than the 'become the pillar of tennis, Echizen!'

{giggling} Kanagawa, eh? Hmm, I'll have to get down there sometime just to say I've been. ^___~ Actually, I'm rather interested to see who they'll choose to represent Ibaraki, since that's my prefecture, and then you have the other three/four in the Kantou Area....

Saaaa!!! I do so enjoy your stories. Ryoma just seems to be having so much fun at his senpai's expense, and I love Tezuka. And his realization that he would need to keep Ryoma in line at least until next year... and how much harder it's getting to still win the games... and... and... and... {squee!!!}

the idea of him hopping a train or bus to get over to Rikkaidai is tres amusing. And fairly easy to believe, too... It would take maybe half an hour by train, closer to an hour by bus, I think, since Kanagawa is just south from Tokyo, across the bay from Chiba. Still...

Ryoma batting back and forth with Sanada, and ocassionally Yukimura, and yes, he remembers he's the captain of his own JH team, now, but really, who cares, because there is nothing for him in JH tennis... all the really good challenges for him have moved on completely into High School.... and...

What would Tezuka's grandfather think of Ryoma, huh?

Rather unrelated, but what is it about screwed up Tezuka family dynamics? Tezuka Shinobu from Koko wa Greenwood had a messed up family. Unless I'm misreading the hints you're giving here, Kunimitsu's family doesn't exactly sound pleasant, either. *laughs*

Maybe they're related? They've even got some of the same kind of intense, quiet focus to them. *grins* Now, the WEIRD thought is that Kunimitsu would have to be Shinobu's YOUNGER cousin by several years. >.<
