Design natter
Dec. 14th, 2007 01:17 pmI think I may crosspost this, if only because my flist over here is small as yet.
But the question /is/... what image would IJ (and its users) like to have? There's the Facebook option, which is Clean and Professional. There's the Myspace option (only better coded, please [DEITY]), which is Bold and Bright. LJ is kind of in between those--the color palate is C&P, while the number of flashy, tacky or just high-contrast content widgets is B&B.
As it stands, IJ itself is kind of in-between... at least the default is. The alternative schemes are kind of half and half either way.
So, okay, maybe that means we should be working toward a sort of compromise scheme. So, probably not the intense blue background. But also perhaps not the pure white background. Light yellow is probably a bit to "soft". Perhaps some kind of geometrical wallpaper for the header and a white background. Something that leaves Tweak on white and then transfers, one way or another, to the topbar-orange as it moves to the left.
Have to make sure the logged in info is still readable on it.
*pokes at this idea some more* Maybe make /all/ the menus the same gold-orange, and save the darker accent colors for that header paper...
