Fic post from my archive.
A typical day in the life of Ryouma and Momo, with a few extra revelations on Momo's part. Karupin gets in on the action.
That furball was the only living creature he had ever seen Ryouma look at with open tenderness, and Momo had a good idea of who would lose if it came to a choice between the cat and himself.

Karupin is my four-legged fuzzy GOD.
Yesh.
Bob: ...Em, you're drunk, aren't you?
Maybe, a little.
Bob: That would explain why you went all sniffly over Momo, then.
But--he's so ADORABLE in his RIGHTEOUS ball-whacking FURY.
Bob: Em. Put the keyboard down, and back away slowly.

You know all I can think about is how normal Momo's family life is in comparison to Ryouma's family. And realising that yeah I pretty much would act like Momo too if I found out my
crushfriend have been brought up the way Ryouma has been. But the other thing, the other thing being that yes, Tezuka is the substitute father-figure, but you know, in many ways he is -doing- what Nanjiroh had been doing up till Ryouma entered Seigaku. He's teaching Ryouma to deal, to evolve, to have a higher target than Nanjiroh. Except more straight-forward.
And then I remember your last piece, and how Ryouma have figured out that the old man had sent to him to Seigaku for the sole purpose of bettering Ryouma. And, and.... and I don't know what I'm trying to say except that, that.... I don't know.
Love this piece. *wanders off trying to think straight*

I think I'm going to friend your fic journal- I keep telling myself to check it independently, but it's so much easier to have it on one page....

Tezuka is such a formative part of Ryoma's life. I lik ehow you showed how Tezuka had a "ripple effect" on Ryoma - starting with tennis, and how it carried onto something more. It's nice to see it highlighted so well - I love Momoshiro as the narrator.
No arguments on this one - aren't you glad? *hearts*
