water... over fire.... [nods] pretty damn insightfuly. {grins} well, tis not my smex (small pout) but tis damn good regardless {inner muse: of course it is! it's a ravenwood fic we're talking about here!}

these boys are just so pretty together... the dynamics of their relationship... Just the sheer intensity that is Yukimura {sighs} have I told you lately that I love and adore and worship your characterizations? ^.^;; You always did have such a wonderful insight and way with all these boys, but I don't think it's every really shined as well as with Rikkai (and are you *sure* you don't want to write something for D2? {sniffles})

As always, I'm looking forward to anything and everything your muses will turn out!

*preens* It's an even more pretentiously insightful title if you're familiar with the I Ching. Sometimes I just can't resist.

*happiness* Though I can't say Rikkai brings out the best in me, 'cause then Atobe will get all pissy, and Ryouma will make even snarkier comments than usual. ^_-

Oh, it's been forever since I've dabbled with the I Ching--please insight me???

{waves hand off at Ryoma and Atobe} trust me--while I absolutely love all your work (and believe, I have commented enough of it, to prove), this latest *has*, without a doubt, been your best... which means you're only getting better with each new story.

So continue to improve----write more. {completely non-self-ish motives...yeah, right}

Water Over Fire: After Completion. The moment of rest, when action has been accomplished and one can see the next action ahead but it does not yet call for a new committment. After Completion and Before Completion are two of my favorite hexagrams: the points just to either side of the apex in the cycle of action, both resting points in different ways. Of course, that's only one aspect of them; it's the I Ching, after all.

okay, on the one hand, that makes this title *REALLY* appropriate...

on the other--I *know* I didn't learn that when I dabbled. {sighs and adds another thing to learn about onto her lists}

I really recommend the Wilhelm/Baynes text. It's a scholarly translation, with a ton of appendices, and it takes the historical context of the I Ching into account. It's fascinating reading, just as philosophy, even without casting a single hexagram. That translation still seems to be the standard for serious study.
