Data gathering

Dear dwircle who may be reading/watching Shin Tenipuri:

Are there any characters among the high schoolers who have shown themselves to be decent human beings?

Besides Tokugawa?

(I am still totally not writing this, and most especially not writing the invitational camp story after Nationals, but if I were I would need high school senpai for the last bit and we have very few of those canonically. Since almost none of the Shin HS characters are given a school affiliation so far, I shall take the liberty of plugging them in wherever I need them. Supposing any of them are worth the paper they're drawn on. Are they?)

(Tokugawa, incidentally, is going to be a Shitenhouji HS boy. Or, he would be if I were writing this, which, of course, I am not.)

Well, of the people we've seen enough to say something (and bearing in mind that I'm not quite up to date, so I can't say much about, say, Echizen Ryoga), Irie Kanata, Oni Juujirou and Tanegashima Shuuji.

We haven't seen very much of Tanegashima, but he seems pretty perceptive. He also seems to have a bit of an odd sense of humour. I can't really say much more than that. That wiki link has more on him, but he really hasn't been very visible as a character.

Oh, and as far as decent high schoolers go, I must of course add Yamato Yuudai to it, although he leaves the camp after his match with Tezuka, if I recall correctly.

Yes, I fear you're going to have to read Shin. *sympathetic*

I'm even less up to date than anehan, unfortunately. Other than the ones she mentioned, when you said senpai, I thought of Tsukimitsu Ochi, mainly because I remember taking special note of the guy when Atobe mentioned him being a Hyoutei graduate. Apparently, he's the former Hyoutei captain before Atobe entered junior high. That could be interesting to play with.

Mind you, I read that chapter without reading at least a couple volumes before or after it, so I don't really know much about him. But whatever you do, I'm going to hope that you forget Echizen Ryoga ever existed (or, well, I'm going to forget, really). I still can't believe he showed up in the manga. -_-

And anehan told me Yamato does show up? *is doing her own research as well*

*grins and sings with*

Oh, also, not sure if you looked into this yet, but Jusaburou Muuri, Ochi's doubles partner is only a 1st year and was from Rikkai so he was actually there just a year ago. He didn't get along with Yukimura, Sanada, and Yanagi though. The linked page says more.

Yay, more gumption Yamato!

Sadly, oh so few, and none who haven't already been mentioned. Or at least none that were memorable. There are so many new characters it's really hard to remember them all.

I must say, I"m grateful to Konomi for making shin tenipuri a completely new series because now we can choose to ignore it or use it, as we choose.
