Yeah, I can't imagine that went on for more than a generation or /maybe/ two. There have been wars going on for the past 50 years, the personnel drain would just be too ridiculous, even with a /really/ heavy social pressure on civilian women to have enough kids to replace them.
Actually, a generation in which there /was/ that kind of pressure built up, only to see most of them die in training and war, might handily explain what caused Mist's most recent civil war and the backlash against the bloodline talents. Not just the terror of those skills as weapons, but a general reaction against the breeding race in general.
