*nods* For free reading that works pretty well, but when you're supposed to be introducing an historical period I find it results in better discussion if I tell people they don't actually have to like it.
(I don't have it online at the moment, but it boils down to: if you can't do the reading, don't admit it; instead read the first and last paragraph and volunteer to say something first thing.)
