I am geekily pleased by Renji's math analogy, especially thinking about the asymptote they're eventually going to hit. And aside from that, this is a good drabble with strong characterization in very few words.

The sad thing? It took me almost as long to look up the spelling of asymptote as it did to write the actual story. ^_^; I swear it used to be commonly spelled differently, but I could just be hallucinating.

The asymptotes! the asymptotes! ♥ Perfect characterisation on them all; Renji's part is my favourite, but what you have on Genichirou's failure of the spirit and Seiichi's grip on the racquet - it's fantastic.
