Fic post from my archive.
Kirihara's relationship to Sanada and his temper.
The first time wasn't really a surprise. Even one summer of observation was enough to tell anyone that Sanada-senpai had no sense of humor.

with an attempt at sane conversation. This one is my favourite of the three. but then I'm always biased because Kirihara! and I adore it when people draw out the more interesting parts of his personality and interactions. and your way of making reference to canon always gets me.
i love how he uses the same joke on Sanada that he uses on Tezuka, later!
ahh, I have theories about how Sanada calls Yukimura by surname, and his inability to cope with affection, like how it bursts out at random intervals? like when Kirihara reaches SOSA and he shouts out encouragement; or when Yukimura is being in the hospital and he rashly makes that promise? and it's all very teenage guy and stoicism and repressed warmth (possibly redirected into violence? but should stop speculating and do homework. yes.
the Sanada piece, a close second. just because the shaping of Sanada's thoughts into iaido-metaphor is just one of the best ideas ever. And *looks at recent scribblings* I think I've nicked your ephemeral Echizen for my own purposes. Actually, I copy a lot of your ideas shamelessly, so alas.
the third piece is gorgeous too, love it to pieces. this would be so the one I'd direct people to if they didn't have the stamina for Challenge and I INSISTED they had to have a look at your Yukimura.

But yes! Kirihara is love. He's definitely the muse who's gotten the most page-time out of me.
*giggling* And doesn't it just make sense that he would try the same tactics on Tezuka that have worked on Sanada?
*interested humming noises* I definitely think there's something to the idea that Sanada's passions tend to get away from him every now and then, no matter how sternly he tries to control them. It seems to me like those outbreaks have about an equal chance of flowing into caring or violence. As though he tries so hard to restrain it either way that the impulses bounce around until which way they come out is something close to random.
*wry* And feel free to borrow bits. That was how my Roy-muse wound up a coffee addict, after all, and that always seemed to work out well.
