I really do wonder if that's what I'm going to need to do. Testing has shown that at least part of it is just that the touch lamps light up brighter. I got a much cheaper set with knob controls which draw the expected .15% charge, but they're dimmer and not nearly as nice for actual night time lighting. Now I have a set of knob-control of the same brand as my touch-control lamps coming so I can see if the controls have anything to do with it or if it's all just profligate power use by that brand.
