Admittedly, the momentum of the arc /does/ call for Shen Wei finally getting a chance to be taken care of for a while. But still!

I kink hard on secret identity shenanigans, and boy is this canon already delivering in spades.

Much amused that the two leads would appear to be acting in different genres, except that their body language cues to each other are so exquisitely tuned that we keep lurching into Serious Pining Territory instead, like the diplomatic overlap buffer of some very peculiar venn diagram.

Also, Shen Wei's lovely chin & striking eyes are so recognizable that I can't believe he gets away with any secret identity shenanigans in canon, this is amazing, what even.

YES. And yes to Shen Wei being extremely recognizable as the BCE, but his whole demeanor is so different that I can see it not being immediately obvious.

I've watched 3 episodes so far, and was using prospect of ep. 4 to motivate myself through my chores yesterday ...except I got tired before all the chores were done, zombie'd through doing the last of the laundry, and faceplanted right into bed.

I know Shen Wei will be vindicated somehow, but this is a hard early cliffhanger to be hanging out at.
